Hip Hop is an entire culture. It started out as various art forms that developed and gained popularity at around the same times and in similar areas. These art forms drew influence from each other and soon merged to become one entity.
In this blog I will attempt to explain the history of Hip Hop and the various art forms and styles that developed in different areas. I will also try to explain the significance of this culture for the people who participate in it.
The blog will cover topics pertaining to the four main elements of Hip Hop:
· Graffiti
· DJ-ing
· MC-ing
· Breaking
I aim for this blog to be a starting place for people interested in Hip Hop to get a basic understanding of the culture. Hopefully a broader comprehension of Hip Hop will help readers enjoy it more and contribute to its spread.
Welcome to Hip Hop Culture.
Will you actually be covering the act of doing such actions like creating graffiti or DJ-ing?
ReplyDeleteI've actually had the pleasure of meeting a couple of DJ's. The most notable would probably be DJ Ruthless Ramsey who is known for scratching tape decks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=088AWsTtTFU
ReplyDeleteOf the four mentioned elements of Hip Hop, which would you consider to be the most valuable asset to it?
